My Gym

I got suddenly health conscience and started to for a lifestyle club. The Next Generation Health Clubs, one of the best clubs in australia.

Manytimes me and my friends had a feel that we have to be a member in this gym and they all finished their degree and went to make some hard money in sydney and melbourne. iam in my last semester and joined in the gym and enjoyed the most out of it.

i workout for 125 to 140 minutes on some cardio`s and some little weights which my personal instructor adviced me to do. after that swimming for 20 minutes and then steam, sona and spa.. the most enjoyable place in the gym.

After relaxing in celcius, back to home and jump into my laptop for some time, have some breads for dinner and sometimes briyani (my friend cooks well) and then to bed.

iam going for gym for the past one month and i feel something physically.. letsee how long my gym is going to work on, but i have to go regularly and iam doing it as much as possible..

My Photography

I allways dreamt about a Digital SLR, which iam going to buy it anyway but i dont know when. i got a little interest in photography when i was in my home town.

i own a canon film camera in which i take pictures of my house, people and in vacation trips. I got it when i studied my 6th grade and that time it is excellent piece.

Me and my sissy used to take snaps in that - a very close shot with flowers and a torch behind the flower to give a good effect and the results came blurry. i dont know closeup shots needs some good lens and variations. Day by day we learnt something that this cam is not suitable for closeup shots.

For wasting film rolls we both got nice treatment from mum but they didnt forget to buy film rolls for us.

As days and years pass by iam taking pano shots and its some what coming good.. i like the improvements i got and i made.

Students - How to Apply for permission to work quicker and easier in Australia

Australia is getting more international students every year and it will be in increase. students came here to study are allowed to work 20hrs per week as a part time to cover up their living expenses.

The department of immigration and multicultural enables the students to get permission for work in 5 easy steps. Permission to work can be applied by two ways 1. Online application and 2. Paper application

2. The Fee to apply for permission to work is AUD $60.

3. Complete online application and follow the prompts to pay for the application.

Note: You must have a credit card or Visa Card to apply online.

3 Mobile - Going Crazy in Mobile Handsets

"Its good to be 3- but its really bad to be with 3".

3 Mobile - covering mostly all parts of Australia and having a good customer base in Australian telecom industry. As i know up to the date all my friends and known persons are hanged in 3 mobile and the mobile phones they provide with the cap plans with 24 month contract.

Some of the Mobiles provided by 3 mobile is good and cap plans are also good comparing to all other telecom providers in Australia. this is what i think coz iam also strucked up with 3 mobile and to be honest iam ok with the mobile and contracts..

One of my friend switched to 3 mobile from optus prepaid on seeing the Nokia 6280 mobile given by 3 mobile. Actually we changed him to 3 coz we all already changed to 3 mobile. My mobile history is big and when i landed in Australia i brought a vodafone prepaid and luckily i got a fancy number. so i am not ready to loose my number and vodafone is costly to use. so i switched to optus and then to 3 mobile. okay lets come to the story...

My friend got his handset and all going fine and everyone started getting a little problems in phone. one day he`z not able to get any incoming calls and also outgoing. As usually checks and repairs from nokia center organised by 3 customer care and again the problem goes on. He gave the mobile 3 times to repair and no use of it.

so we called the customer care and asked for replacement mobile and simply the customer care guys said " Sir, Your mobile is still in warranty and you have to service it again and we cant provide you a replacement mobile". Already he went 3 times to Nokia repair center and no use in that. The customer care guys are not ready to accept that and that's totally bullshit from 3. And 4th time he gave it to Nokia center for repair. we may also blame the Nokia care but its not our problem coz its a tie between 3 and Nokia.

Its the duty of 3 mobile to give another mobile by taking the old one back coz he brought it from 3 mobile not from nokia center or dealers. Marketing their new plans using latest mobiles is not the best business, but maintaining it is the good business. A service provider should be a service provider not a money minded concern.

The 3 customer care is in India and those guys are really pain in ass. The worst customer service in telecom is 3 mobile`s customer care.

No Way To Escape if Management is ready to Screw You

The below story was discussed in Indian Institute of Management and Business and has a lesson to learn about the Management Issues in a Concern. IIM is one of the leading Management Institute in Asia.

PVNR (PV Narasimha Rao), L.K.Advani and Laloo Prasad Yadav were traveling in an auto rickshaw. They met with an accident and all three of them died. Yama Raja was waiting for this moment at the doorstep of death. He asks PVNR and Advani to go to HEAVEN. But, for Laloo, Yama had already decided that he should be sent to HELL.

Laloo is not at all happy with this decision. He asks Yama as to why this discrimination is being made. All the three of them had served the public. Similarly all misused public positions, etc. Then why the differential treatment?
He felt that there should be a formal test or an objective evaluation before a decision is made; and should not be just assessed on opinion or pre conceived notions.

Yama agrees to this and asks all the three of them to appear for an English test.
PVNR is asked to spell " INDIA " and he does it correctly. Advani is asked to spell " ENGLAND " and he too passes.
It is Laloo's turn and he is asked to spell " CZECHOSLOVAKIA".

Laloo protests that he doesn't know English. He says this is not fair and that he was given a tough question and thus forced to fail with false intent.

Yama then agrees to conduct a written test in Hindi (to give another chance assuming that Laloo should at least feel that Hindi would provide an equal platform for all three). PVNR is asked to write "KUTTA BOLA BHOW BHOW". He writes it easily and passes. Advani is asked to write "BILLY BOLI MYAUN MYAUN" and he passed the test.

Laloo is asked to write "BANDAR BOLA GURRRRRR.... ." Tough one. He fails again.

Laloo is extremely unhappy. Having been a student of history (which the other two weren't), he now requested for all the 3 to be subjected to a test in history and Yama says OK but this would be the last chance and that he would
not take any more tests.

PVNR is asked: "When did India get Independence ? " He replied "1947" and passed. Advani is asked "How many people died during the independence struggle?" He gets nervous. Yama asked him to choose from 3 options: 1,00,000 or 2,00,000 or 3,00,000. Advani catches it and says 200,000 and passes.

It's Laloo's turn now. Yama asks him to give the Name and Address of each of the 2,00,000 who died in the struggle. Laloo accepts defeat and agrees to go to HELL.

Moral of the Story: IF YOUR MANAGEMENT HAS DECIDED TO SCREW YOU, THERE IS NO ESCAPE

The Words of Chanakya - worth to learn

King Chandragupta Maurya is the founder of the Mauryan Empire which ruled over india and bringing all indian subcontinent together and established a great dynasty.

Chandragupta is considered the first unifier of India and the first genuine emperor of India.

Chanakya was the cheif advisor, prime misister and a architect of Chandragupta's rise to power.

Three books are attributed to Chanakya: Arthashastra, Nitishastra and Chanakya Niti.

The Arthashastra discusses monetary and fiscal policies, welfare, international relations, and war strategies in detail. Many of his nitis or policies have been compiled under the book title Chanakya Niti. Nitishastra is a treatise on the ideal way of life, and shows Chanakya's in depth study of the Indian way of life.

The below are the famous quotes from chanakya.

  • "A person should not be too honest. Straight trees are cut first and Honest people are screwed first."

  • "Even if a snake is not poisonous, it should pretend to be venomous."

  • "The biggest guru-mantra is: Never share your secrets with anybody. ! It will destroy you."

  • "There is some self-interest behind every friendship. There is no Friendship without self-interests. This is a bitter truth."
  • "Before you start some work, always ask yourself three questions - Why am I doing it, What the results might be and Will I be successful. Only when you think deeply and find satisfactory answers to these questions, go ahead."

  • "As soon as the fear approaches near, attack and destroy it."
  • "Once you start a working on something, don't be afraid of failure and don't abandon it. People who work sincerely are the happiest."
  • "The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind. But the goodness of a person spreads in all direction."

  • "A man is great by deeds, not by birth."

  • "Treat your kid like a darling for the first five years. For the next five years, scold them. By the time they turn sixteen, treat them like a friend. Your grown up children are your best friends."
  • "Books are as useful to a stupid person as a mirror is useful to a blind person."
  • "Education is the best friend. An educated person is respected everywhere. Education beats the beauty and the youth."

A New Blood Donor

This is the day i became a blood donor and Australian RedCross Member. This is my first time in donating blood and really i felt something i did good in my life. To be true iam bit afraid of the needles and allways ask the doctor for syrup and tablets to avoid injections. Its a little pain but it makes me to feel so much pressure in me. so why to go into such a mental pressure. But sometime i have to go through it.

I went with ny friend and he too donate the blood and filled as usuall forms and waited for the call. In the mean time we drink lots of water and orange juice provided in RedCross Office.

The time came and got my name called and pre-check for pressure and Iron test in blood and the scene came.... They took me to the room where easy access recyliners are situated and so many persons are there donating blood. so i didnt feel much pressure inside me.

The staffs are really caring and friendly and each and everytime they check me iam ok or not. As usuall pre-steps going on and when i saw the needle iam really shocked of its size. Its really big and i adjusted with it. The staff told me to look other side and then pin the needle in my vein and blood starts to flow. First i feel pain and by time iam relaxed and there is no much pain.

Exact 12 minutes, 470ml taken from by body and iam really happy that i became a successful donor. After that had a apple juice and a muffin and came back home.

I really feel happy that i did something good. So iam waiting for my next donation and i have to wait for another 3 months.

Here the story ends...happily..

Samsung Q35 - "world's smallest" Core Duo laptop

I had a idea of changing my laptop, not now may be two or three months later and searched the internet to know how the market and price going now. I cross accross this piece manufactured from samsung carrying the banner " worlds smallest laptop".. so check this out.

What do you do when you're a little late to the party, and still want to make sure you catch a bit of buzz?

If you're Samsung, you don't just announce that your Q35 is a Core Duo laptop; after all, other companies have been announcing their Core Duo rigs for months.

You declare it the "world's smallest" Core Duo box, and trumpet the fact that it weighs about 4 pounds, has a 12-inch widescreen display, and still manages to pack in a T2700 processor, 512MB of RAM and an 80GB hard drive.

There's also a DVD burner, WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet and Firewire. And, of course, since Samsung laptops aren't sold in the US, we assume that within a few days we'll hear an announcement from someone else for the "world's smallest Core Duo laptop that you can actually buy."

The Samsung Q35 has superb audio capabilities and HD audio system is boosted with SRS' 3D sound technology. Other features include 802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi connectivity, along with Bluetooth 2.0 and, for wired networks, 10/100Mbps Ethernet, six-in-one memory card reader, PC Card slot, a four-pin Fire wire and a pair of USB 2.0 ports for peripherals. It includes a six-cell battery which offers 7 hours of runtime.

The price is
AUD $2,499.

Lateral Thinking

1. There is a man who lives on the top floor of a very tall building.Everyday he gets the elevator down to the ground floor to leave the building to go to work.Upon returning from work though, he can only travel half way up in the lift and has to walk the rest of the way unless it's raining! Why?

(This is probably the best known and most celebrated of all lateral thinking puzzles. It is a true classic. Although there are many possible solutions which fit the initial conditions, only the canonical answer is truly satisfying)

2. A man and his son are in a car accident. The father dies on the scene, but the child is rushed to the hospital. When he arrives the surgeon says,"I can't operate on this boy, he is my son! " How can this be?

3. A man is wearing black. Black shoes, socks, trousers, lumper, gloves and balaclava. He is walking down a black street with all the street lamps off.A black car is coming towards him with its light off but somehow manages to stop in time. How did the driver see the man?

4. Why is it better to have round manhole covers than square ones? This is logical rather than lateral, but it is a good puzzle that can be solved by lateral thinking techniques. It is supposedly used by a very well-known software company as an interview question for prospective employees.

5. A man went to a party and drank some of the punch. He then left early.Everyone else at the party who drank the punch subsequently died of poisoning. Why did the man not die?

6. A man walks into a bar and asks the barman for a glass of water. The barman pulls out a gun and points it at the man. The man says 'Thank you' and walks out.

(This puzzle claims to be the best of the genre. It is simple in its statement, absolutely baffling and yet with a completely satisfying solution. Most people struggle very hard to solve this one yet they like the answer when they hear it or have the satisfaction of figuring it out)

The Answers are:

1. The man is very, very short and can only reach halfway up the elevator buttons. However,if it is raining then he will have his umbrella with him and can press the higher buttons with it.

2. The surgeon was his mother.

3. It was day time.

4. A square manhole cover can be turned and dropped down the diagonal of the manhole. A round manhole cannot be dropped down the manhole. So for safety and practicality, all manhole covers should be round.

5. The poison in the punch came from the ice cubes. When the man Drank the punch, the ice was fully frozen. Gradually it melted, poisoning the punch.

6. The man had hiccups. The barman recognized this from his speech and drew the gun in order to give him a shock. It worked and cured the hiccups-so the man no longer needed the water.

Wollongong, New South Wales

Wollongong is the third largest city in the state of New South Wales, Australia, after Sydney and Newcastle. It is also a Local Government Area administered by the Wollongong City Council.

It is located on the eastern coast of Australia, 82 kilometres (52 mi) south of Sydney in an area known as the Illawarra and has a metropolitan population of 274,072 (2004). Wollongong is connected to Sydney through a scenic road and rail route which takes between 90 and 120 minutes and via main roads, taking between 70 and 90 minutes.

The name Wollongong, (IPA: [‘wʊlɒŋgɒŋ]), is generally said to mean "sound of the sea" in the local Aboriginal language, although other explanations have been offered, such as "great feast of fish".[1] Known affectionately as "the Gong", Wollongong is a town with a long history of mining and industry, having coal mines, steelworks and an industrial port.

The city is also a regional centre for the South Coast fishing industry. It has a university, the University of Wollongong, which attracts a great number of international students each year. It has two Regional Cathedrals, and numerous churches of many denominations including the well-known land-mark, the Nan Tien Buddhist Temple, the largest in the Southern hemisphere.

The City of Wollongong has a distinct geography. It lies on a narrow coastal plain flanked by the Pacific Ocean to the east and a steep sandstone precipice known as the Illawarra escarpment to the west. The coastal plain is widest in the south and narrowest in the north.

To the north of Wollongong it becomes so narrow that the coastal road - Lawrence Hargrave Drive - once precariously hugged the cliffline until rock falls forced its closure. It was replaced in 2005 by the Sea Cliff Bridge. The bridge carries both vehicular and pedestrian traffic just off the coast, crossing the submerged rock shelf.

The Illawarra Railway must go through several tunnels to reach the Sydney metropolitan area. The Southern Freeway and Old Princes Highway provide alternative inland routes, descending the escarpment further south at Bulli Pass or at Mount Ousley, entering the coastal plain at Gwynneville, just north of Wollongong's city centre.

Grand Pacific Drive - Sydney to Wollongong

Just 1 hour south of Sydney, Grand Pacific Drive encompasses some of NSW’s most spectacular scenery and coastline.

Beginning at the Royal National Park (world’s second oldest), this magnificent driving route takes you through beautiful coastal rainforests and spectacular driving scenery with close proximity to sheer cliffs and the South Pacific Ocean.

The route then leads you across the impressive 665 metre Sea Cliff Bridge and quaint coastal villages boasting some of the states most beautiful beaches and rock pools.

Grand Pacific Drive takes you into Wollongong; a bustling coastal city with a vast array of attractions and activities for any visitor.

This is the place i visit thrice when i was in wollongong for my newyear. The bridge look awesome and in first view it is stunning. The sea breeze is excellent and there is a path all along the way the bridge for the visitors to see through.

I walked all the way through the bridge and took so many snaps of it. I like this place mostly than anything in wollongong.

Overseas Student Health Cover - OSHC

One of my friend faced a accident in his work and suffered a lot because of the injury and also the costs. Really University helps a lot and OSHC take care of the expenses.

so i had a thaught of writing about OSHC and got the details from the OSHC WorldCare webpage. Here goes the message......

As an International Student, it is a condition of your student visa that you have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of your stay in Australia.

OSHC gives you access to out of hospital and in hospital medical services to help you maintain your health.

Get 5% Discount on your PremiumIf you purchase a policy for more than 12 months, your premium will be discounted by 5%.

OSHC also recommend that you purchase extended cover for a maximum period of 6 years. Not only will you get a 5% discount, but you will protect yourself from future rate rises.

OSHC is required for all international students in the term of their study period and if a student in not covered in OSHC its a failure in meeting the student visa conditions.

To be true the rule is good to keep the students safe and covering their medical expenses.

From OSHC - We will not pay for:

(a) Services provided by physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, naturopaths or any other ancillary services.
(b) Medications, drugs or other treatments not prescribed by a doctor or not included in the PBS.
(c) Dentist or optician charges.
(d) The co-payment payable by you under Australian law or as a result of the provider charging in excess of the Schedule Fee.
(e) Medical or hospital services arising from any event listed as a General Exclusion.

Everyone knows that some medical expenses are too high and can not be paid by many class of people all over the world and also in australia. The main example is dental costs.

The dental cost are too high in australia and no such a student can cover those expenses.

Funny Story - Santa Banta

I got a mail today morning from my friend and absolutely its a forward mail. At first i decided to delete it and taught of reading it and its some what good making fun of SANTA BANTA...the famous singhs in india.

This happened about a month ago near Lonavala. A guy was driving from

Mumbai to Pune and decided not to take the new expressway as he wants to
see the scenery. The inevitable happens and when he reaches the ghats
his car breaks down - he's stranded miles from nowhere.

Having no choice he starts walking on the side of the road, hoping to
get a lift to the nearest town. It's dark and raining. And pretty soon
he's wet and shivering. The night rolls on and no car goes by, the rain is
so heavy he can hardly see a few feet ahead of him. Suddenly he sees a car
coming towards him. It slows and then stops next to him - without
thinking the guy opens the door and jumps in.

Seated in the back, he leans forward to thank the person who had saved
him - when he realizes there is nobody behind the wheel!!!

Even though there's no one in the front seat and no sound of any
engine,
the car starts moving slowly. The guy looks at the road ahead and sees
a curve coming.

Scared almost to death he starts to pray, begging the Lord for his
life.

He hasn't come out of shock, when just before he hits the curve, a hand

appears through the window and moves the wheel!

The car makes the curve safely and continues on the road to the next

bend. The guy, now paralyzed in terror, watches how the hand appears
every time they are before a curve and moves the steering wheel just enough
to get the car around each bend.

Finally, the guy sees lights ahead. Gathering his courage he wrenches
open the door of the silent, slowly moving car, scrambles out and runs
as hard as he can towards the lights. It's a small town.

He stumbles into a dhaba, and asks for a drink, and breaks down. Then
he starts talking about the horrible experience he's just been through.

There is dead silence in the dhaba when he stops talking ..... . . . .
.. . . . . . . . . . . .

....and that's when Santa and Banta Singh walk into the dhaba. Santa
points and says "Look Banta - that's the weird guy who got into our car
when we were pushing it."
HA !!!!! HA !!!!! HA

I cant sleep

I am really tired for the whole day and dreamed about sleeping well while sitting in my class. Till morning i am with my friends convocation function and i slept when the function begins because of so many advices from the chancellor and VC`s.
The only free stuff in the world is advice, but we paid $15 to get it( entry fee, seems university makes good money from students even on their last day with university life).

The function ends at 5 and we all came down for a coffee and all are in deep hungry. After this i had my seminar on one of my summer course and i didn't prepare for it. Actually we all had a little hangover because of the last night party and that makes us all totally bad.

i went to the class, prepared a little notes for my seminar. Thank god there is another group for seminar that day and our hours are shorted." Thank god you are there"...

My turn is last, so i enjoyed at others presentation and finally iam in. At first i feel too dizzy and as usuall "hai and hello`s" and i started my part. i did well and all of my group mates are happy and to be true i talked more time than they did. After my seminar i recalled what i talked there and i cont remember that...but iam ok with the way i talked there taking some 15-20 min in a good way.

My class time is 6-9pm. i feel too hungry and came home friends waiting for dinner and ordered pizza "a heavy order of 4 party pizza`s" and eat well and we all had a nice chat and everyone feels sleepy and they are on it. i jumped in my bed and i tried to sleep but i cont. i think for a while "is anything bothering me".. but there is nothing to worry.... my mind is like a clean slate and why the hell i cont sleep and even the night before i didn't sleep well.

so i started writing this and ....ended in this line....

Can anyone beat this resume

I live with Cyber Psycho

We 5 friends live in a three bed room house mostly fully equiped with Big screen TV + foxtel connection and 24hrs ADSL2+ broadband internet connection with a download limit of 40GB/month.

1.Anand(its me) 2.Thiru 3.Prakash 4.Vel 5.Chandru.

The topic is about vel, chandru and Anokh...Oh i forget to tell about him.. This guy joined in our house because of some stuffs he faced with his old room mates.so we gave him a place for a while. so we totall 6 of us and house is big so we live quite independent.

These guys allways in chat with their friends and new friends thru orkut. They have been sitting allways in their laptops. so we decided to name them as cyber sycho`s...

At present vel is indulged with NFS and some what reduced his chat. Another important thing is vel and anokh having yahoo messenger in their mobile phones.. thats how the technology works folks..

Friends on the way

Iam waiting for the sun to go down, in simple waiting for night folks, because my friend is coming from sydney,(not exactly its, WOLLONGONG) making some stop overs picking other friends and coming to adelaide for christmas/new year celebration. To be true over celebration is had some nice party in home with all thats it, but its lovely to be with friends...

Its been like more than 10 hrs drive and some pullovers to refresh and it makes them to reach adelaide in night, its really safe to have some pullovers and refresh...

One of my friend Mr.Hari, working as a database administrator in Oasis softwares adn other two guys Mr.Giri and Mr.Srivatsa working in Telstra corporation. well now they are ok with the job and we all know human mind allways has monkey business, jumping to another company which is ready to buy you...The only thing they all been waiting for is a whole year experience and PR which they applied two months ago.

There is nothing to fear about PR because they are in a job and all criteria filled up.

Hari is a cool guy who never get tensed, if anything happens wrong normally, but Srivatsa ll rise to his peak tension and burst all around and fear to allmost dead...funny to say...but its true. Giri, same like srivatsa but keep all stuffs in mind and tell to others only when he is out of control the pressure with in him.

And here iam, to be true totally cool and that leads to be in high tension sometimes.

I forget to tell you onething the previuos version of NFS Mostwanted. The main event i love in that game is "The Police Chase".. i love it and played manytimes as much as i can. Due to that effect i got a pullover by COPS and got a warning for backlight, thank god iam safe from fine. somewhat good cops who knows about "International Students".

I really amazed on that game, what a tracks and graphics and i didnt finish it completely coz of my laptop doesnt support that much to the end and to be true its preety hard day by day, but i finished previous version NFS Underground 2.

Well baby, I've been around the world
But I ain't seen myself another girl (like you)
This ring here represents my heart
But there's just one thing I need from you (say I do)
[Bridge:]
Because, I can see us holding hands
Walking on the beach our toes in the sand
I can see us on the country side
Sitting on the grass laying side by side
You can be my baby
Let me make you my lady
Girl you amaze meAint gotta do nothin crazy
See all I want you to do is be…

But if you got a man, try to lose him if you can
Cause the girls world wide throw they hands up high

Because you ain't been seen wit a man so fly
France is so fly I can go fly
Private, cause I handle my B-I
They call me candle guy, simply because I am on fire
I hate to have to cancel my vacation so you can't deny
I'm patient, but I ain't gonna try
You don't come, I ain't gonna die
Hold up, what you mean, you can't go why?
Me and you boyfriend we ain't no tie
You say you wanna kick it, when i aint so high
Well baby, its obvious that I ain't your guy
Ain't goin lie, I feel your space
But forget your face, I swear I will
Same park, same bullet anywhere I chill
Just bring wit me a pair, I will

Srinivasa Ramanujan

Srinivāsa Aiyangār Rāmānujan (Tamil: ஸ்ரீனிவாஸ ஐயங்கார் ராமானுஜன்) (December 22, 1887April 26, 1920) was an Indian Tamil mathematician who excelled in the heuristic aspects of number theory and insight into modular functions.
He also made significant contributions to the development of partition functions and summation formulas involving constants such as π (pi).

A child prodigy, he was largely self-taught in mathematics and had compiled over 3,000 theorems between 1914 and 1918 at the University of Cambridge. Often, his formulas were merely stated, without proof, and were only later proven to be true. His results were highly original and unconventional, and have inspired a large amount of research and many mathematical papers; however, some of his discoveries have been slow to enter the mathematical mainstream.

Recently his formulae have started to be applied in the field of crystallography, and other applications in physics. The Ramanujan Journal was launched to publish work "in areas of mathematics influenced by Ramanujan".

Recognition
Ramanujan's home state of Tamil Nadu celebrates December 22 (Ramanujan's birthday) as 'State IT Day', memorializing both the man, and his achievements, as a native of Tamil Nadu.

A stamp picturing Ramanujan was released by the Government of India in 1962—the 75th anniversary of Ramanujan's birth—commemorating his achievements in the field of number theory.

A prize for young mathematicians from developing countries has been created in the name of Srinivasa Ramanujan by the
International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), in cooperation with the IMU, who nominate members of the Prize Committee.
During the year 1987 Ramanujan Centennial, the printed form of Ramanujan's Lost Notebook by Springer-Narosa was released by the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, who presented the first copy to Janaki Ammal Ramanujan, the late widow of Ramanujan, and the second copy to Professor Andrews in recognition of his contributions in the field of number theory.

2006 TOP 10 Rich Persons

Top billionaires (reported by Forbes)

Warren Buffet - 2nd Richest Man

There was a one hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the second richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity.

Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:

1) He bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late!
2) He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.
3) He still lives in the same small 3 bedroom house in mid-town Omaha , that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.
4) He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.
5) He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.
6) His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies. He writes only one letter each year to the CEOs of these companies, giving them goals for the year. He never holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis.
7) He has given his CEO's only two rules. Rule number 1: do not lose any of your share holder's money. Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1.
8) He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His past time after he gets home is to make himself some pop corn and watch television.
9) Bill Gates, the world's richest man met him for the first time only 5 years ago.
Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with Warren Buffet. So he had scheduled his meeting only for half hour. But when Gates met him, the meeting lasted for ten hours and Bill Gates became a devotee of Warren Buffet.
10) Warren Buffet does not carry a cell phone, nor has a computer on his desk.
11) His advice to young people: Stay away from credit cards and invest in yourself.

Why I Hate Spam - Bill Gates

why it hate spam - taken from http://www.microsoft.com/presspass/ofnote/06-23wsjspam.mspx

Reprinted from The Wall Street Journal by Bill Gates June 23, 2003

SEATTLE -- Like almost everyone who uses e-mail, I receive a ton of spam every day. Much of it offers to help me get out of debt or get rich quick. It would be funny if it weren't so irritating.

But spam is worse than irritating. It is a drain on business productivity, an increasingly costly waste of time and resources that clogs corporate networks and distracts workers.

Among consumers, it spreads scams, pornography and even computer viruses. Worse, spammers prey on less sophisticated e-mail users, including children, threatening their safety and privacy.

And as everyone struggles to sift spam from their inboxes, valid messages are sometimes overlooked or deleted, which makes e-mail less useful and reliable as a channel for communication and legitimate e-commerce. In short, spam threatens to undo much of the good that e-mail has achieved.

As part of our drive to create a more trustworthy computing environment, this month, Microsoft filed 15 lawsuits in the U.S. and U.K. against companies and individuals alleged to have sent billions of spam messages in violation of state and federal laws. In addition to filing civil lawsuits and taking other enforcement actions, we are significantly stepping up our efforts to fight spam through technological innovation and cooperation with government and industry leaders.

We are developing more effective anti-spam filters and other technologies that build on our research into fields such as machine learning -- the design of systems that learn from data and grow smarter over time. These "smart" systems are vital to the fight against spam because every defensive action causes spammers to change their tactics. Technology, to be effective, must continuously adapt too.

Already, spam filters built into MSN and Hotmail servers block 2.4 billion messages a day before they reach subscribers' inboxes. We have assembled a vast and fast-growing database of spam, which will be used by a forthcoming version of our Outlook e-mail software to block spam more effectively. And a new version of our Exchange e-mail server will include advanced anti-spam features.

Our goal is to do everything possible to secure e-mail systems with servers that monitor and control the points of entry.

But a single company can't stem the tide of spam alone. So we are working with other industry leaders such as AOL, Yahoo! and EarthLink on a range of joint initiatives. For example, we are battling spammers who set up numerous e-mail accounts and move from service to service to avoid detection. To put an end to this shell game, we are sharing information so that we can keep tabs on roving spammers and shut them down more effectively. Spammers also go to great lengths to conceal or "spoof" their identities, so we are partnering with other service providers to identify and restrict mail that conceals its source. And we are creating a system to verify sender addresses, much as recipients' addresses are verified today.

A key to eliminating spam is establishing clear guidelines for legitimate commercial e-mail. With industry and consumer groups, we are developing best-practice guidelines to help responsible companies understand how to reach their customers without spamming them. Congress could help by providing a strong incentive for businesses to adopt e-mail best practices.

Our proposal is to create a regulatory "safe harbor" status for senders who comply with e-mail guidelines confirmed by an FTC-approved self-regulatory body. Senders who do not comply would have to insert an "ADV:" label -- standing for advertisement -- in the subject line of all unsolicited commercial e-mail. This would enable computer users either to accept ADV-labeled mail or to have it deleted automatically.

As less junk mail reaches recipients -- and violators face stiffer sanctions for illegal activities -- the financial incentives for spammers will decrease, and spamming will lose its appeal.

Then maybe we can all focus on the e-mail that's actually worth reading.

On Spam: Wasting time on the Internet

When iam searching details and columns about SPAM mails by big shots i got this from the Founder of Microsoft.

The below message is delivered By Bill Gates

Wasting somebody else's time strikes me as the height of rudeness. We have only so many hours, and none to waste. That's what makes electronic junk mail and e-mail hoaxes so maddening.

The "free" distribution of unwelcome or misleading messages to thousands of people is an annoying and sometimes destructive use of the Internet's unprecedented efficiency.Few tools in history have been as powerful as the Internet. Although still in its infancy, the Internet is beginning to transform the world by making communication and publishing fantastically inexpensive and accessible.

But like any powerful tool, it is subject to misuse and abuse. The incremental cost of sending a message on the Internet is essentially zero. This has wonderful implications. Unfortunately, it has led to junk mail being sent to tens of thousands of people--wasting an enormous amount of their collective time--at almost no cost to the senders.

The burden is borne by the recipients, who must wade through unwanted commercial messages and by the Internet companies that handle this "spam"-- the name the Internet community has attached to junk e-mail.Imagine how much paper junk mail you would get if postage, paper, and printing were nearly free.

You might get 50 catalogs a day--or more.As you may know first-hand, it's not uncommon for people to get dozens of pieces of spam a day in their e-mail inboxes. Companies that carry Internet traffic pay the costs associated with handling the millions of unsolicited messages. You can spot most of these messages easily because their topics contain inflated promises, uppercase letters or multiple exclamation marks.

The identities of the senders are usually camouflaged or falsified, because people sending out garbage don't want to take responsibility for it.For example, a message titled "You've GOT to see this!!!" comes from a sender who gives his or her name only as a number. It's junk mail pointing to a pornography site. Press the Delete key to kill the message.

A message titled "You Too Can Easily Earn $1000-$5000/Wk!" is from a nameless sender with something to sell. Press Delete.A mailing titled "$ENHANCE REALITY$" promises a way to "EXPLODE your business." Delete the junk--and wish you could explode the spammer's business.Although it doesn't take long to detect and delete a single message, going through dozens a day is big waste of time. And millions of people are forced to do it.

Of course, a lot of e-mail of a commercial nature is perfectly legitimate. Mass mailings are appropriate if the recipients invite the communication by signing up for "news" on certain topics or for offers of a particular kind.My company is among many that offer regular e-mailings to customers and potential customers.

But we only send e-mail to people who have requested it, and we have easy ways for people to remove themselves from the mailing list.Spam, on the other hand, often comes from mailboxes that people set up just long enough to get off one mass mailing, and then shut down. There's no easy way to ask to be removed from a spammer's list, or to complain.Sometimes spam includes a purported way for you to remove yourself from the mailing list, but it often doesn't work.

In fact, making the request may do nothing more than prove to the spammer that your e-mail address is valid--prompting more mailings.I use software that does a pretty good job of filtering out junk e-mail, but the filters eliminate some messages I'd probably like to read. It's unfortunate. As I first described in my book "The Road Ahead" in 1995, I expect that eventually you'll be paid to read unsolicited e-mail.

You'll tell your e-mail program to discard all unsolicited messages that don't offer an amount of money that you'll choose. If you open a paid message and discover it's from a long-lost friend or somebody else who has a legitimate reason to contact you, you'll be able to cancel the payment.

Otherwise, you'll be paid for your time. When this day comes, spam will cease to be a problem because people will be able to decide what their time is worth and advertisers will have to pay significant sums to reach people.Legislative solutions to the spam problem have been suggested, too.

For example, lawmakers have proposed that all advertisements be marked so that they can be easily deleted, and that all e-mail include a legitimate return address. Advances in software also promise to make it easier for people to track down the real originators of e-mail, which should help discourage spam.Even more annoying than spam, in some respects, are hoaxes. I'm acutely aware of this because my name was recently attached to a hoax e-mail message that was widely distributed.

People embellished the fraudulent e-mail over time, as it was forwarded from electronic mailbox to electronic mailbox, but an early version read this way:

"My name is Bill Gates. I have just written up an e-mail tracing program that traces everyone to whom this message is forwarded to. I am experimenting with this and I need your help. Forward this to everyone you know and if it reaches 1000 people everyone on the list will receive $1000 at my expense. Enjoy. Your friend, Bill Gates."
The bogus message was widely forwarded, which surely led to some disappointment from people who hoped to receive $1,000 for passing along what was essentially a chain letter.

As people forwarded it to everybody they knew who had an e-mail address, they appended wishful commentary:"I hope this is for real. It would be nice.""Just read it and pass it on and collect $1000...I hope.""I'm sure that this is a joke . . . but maybe not.""I am sure this is a big bunch of hooey . . . but what if it isn't????"Well, it is hooey.

There's a lot of hooey on the Internet, and a lot that's rude. But that doesn't mean the Internet isn't wonderful, that it won't change the world or that it won't get a lot better over time. Here are Web sites that discuss spam and suggest ways to deal with it.

I don't necessarily endorse the suggestions, but the pages are interesting:

Bulk/Spam Message

"Spamming is the abuse of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited, undesired bulk messages"

i won so many millions of dollors and pounds of international lotteries, so many job offers and credit cards and so many offers which makes me to count one of the richest person in the place where i live.

I like to find out the counts of spam/bulk messages i got. The date is set between 8th December 06 to 15th December 06.

I activated my spam guard long time ago and blocked 60 address till now and it will be increasing day by day. so as in my 8 day span listing, total bulk messages are "135" messages. so i got 16.8messages a day apart, my regular mails from my university, cousins and friends, say like 10 - 15. It took me about an hour to read and reply all these mails.

There is no more big options in yahoo mail to stop these kind of messages and its been a big headache to delete all these messages.

Comparing gmail and yahoo mail, gmail is good and better algorithms to keep it away from spam mails. comparing with in a year gmail is moving good in its business and going good.
so i think of changing to gmail not to waste time in deleting the spam mails.
