A New Blood Donor
This is the day i became a blood donor and Australian RedCross Member. This is my first time in donating blood and really i felt something i did good in my life. To be true iam bit afraid of the needles and allways ask the doctor for syrup and tablets to avoid injections. Its a little pain but it makes me to feel so much pressure in me. so why to go into such a mental pressure. But sometime i have to go through it.
I went with ny friend and he too donate the blood and filled as usuall forms and waited for the call. In the mean time we drink lots of water and orange juice provided in RedCross Office.
The time came and got my name called and pre-check for pressure and Iron test in blood and the scene came.... They took me to the room where easy access recyliners are situated and so many persons are there donating blood. so i didnt feel much pressure inside me.
The staffs are really caring and friendly and each and everytime they check me iam ok or not. As usuall pre-steps going on and when i saw the needle iam really shocked of its size. Its really big and i adjusted with it. The staff told me to look other side and then pin the needle in my vein and blood starts to flow. First i feel pain and by time iam relaxed and there is no much pain.
Exact 12 minutes, 470ml taken from by body and iam really happy that i became a successful donor. After that had a apple juice and a muffin and came back home.
I really feel happy that i did something good. So iam waiting for my next donation and i have to wait for another 3 months.
